The project
A multi-tenant platform that lets cinema guests scan a QR code at their seat, order food and pay, without an account. Behind it sit a management dashboard for cinema staff and a kitchen display that takes every paid order through to hand-over. It replaces a legacy Vista PopExpress workflow for whole cinema chains, and now brings in close to ₹2 lakh in food sales a day.
What I delivered
- Designed four apps that work as one: a customer ordering app, a staff dashboard, a kitchen display and the API behind them, with a generated, typed client shared through one OpenAPI contract.
- Built payments on Cashfree so an order is marked paid exactly once, whether the confirmation comes from the browser, a webhook or reconciliation, and a customer is never asked to pay twice.
- Isolated data per cinema chain, with per-module permissions for five staff roles checked on the server for every request.
- Made the ordering app safe on shared kiosks and fast on phones: the server picks the show the guest is sitting in, and customer details clear between orders.
